Sport PR

I love PR, but interning in sports PR for less than a month and I have all ready pick up on a few thing I'd liked to share.

One
Be prepared for long hours especially if it go into overtime. The worst days are double header and series.

Two Too many kids.
Working in sports PR is probably the best birth control ever.

Three
I get PR you never sleep, but I like how we can work from home if we choose, but not in sports PR you MUST be presented.

Four
Co-workers, there always going to be those people who don't like you and for me that everywhere, but the more I get promoted the more they come after me. I try to be the nice leader, but I can see how Bosses are mean. I really don't what to be.

Five
Stress, PR and stress go together and I work well with it but I can’t stand when people tell me to relax they don't know me or how I operated stress is just who I am and I will deal with it in my own way.  The job get done and everyone liked it then why are you worried about if I'm stressed. They make me more stress if you tell, me to relax.

At the end of they day it's something different but I will never work in baseball, football, NBA , hockey maybe but never again will it be baseball.

The Importance of Our Phones

In PR our phones are our lives. Especially with the raise of social media. Our phones are always going off whether it be emails, notification, calls or message. I personally wake up every morning and look at my emails, that plan my agenda for the day. Has any scandals happen over night that I have to take care of before anything else?

In Public Relations you must stay current, with what going on in the news. I don;t have time to watch the news, therefore I rely on social media. What trending today and why?

Smartphones have quickly takeover our lives. I can remember seating in on a session at a conference where they talked about fasting. Not the food, but technology. They explain it as no technology for 24 hours you cna even be in the same room as someone watching TV. All the student presenting there research had done this, I looked at they in amazement, because that something I don't think i could no. No Music, No emails or messages what if something bad happens I asked them this question and they said that they told there family members and friend before hand and if they need to reach then to call on of there friends and they will rely the message.

Therefore i'm wondering could you ever go 24 hour without technology?

9 Thing Only PR Students Understand

You are 95% sure you are addicted to coffee.

You have become the #1 news source for your friends and family. They don’t even bother checking the news anymore because they know you've already scoured every piece of news.

Your friends will never understand why you took an entire class dedicated to social media.

How hard it is to explain your major. “Wait, so it’s like Marketing?” …. Not exactly. “Oh so you’re like Samantha from Sex and the City!” Sigh.

You see a new press release publish and you are re reading it all day

You dream about AP Style

You become unreasonably excited when there’s a huge communication crisis in the news because you know you’ll spend almost the entire class period the next day discussing it in depth.

The word “Spinner” sends shivers down your spine.

You’ll never look at commercials the same. Now all you see is storyboards, client meetings, and month’s worth of work for a 30 second spot.
